Last Baseball game for big D and Daddy

The Renton Little League Mariner team played it's last game June 1st at Thomas Teasdale park on Talbot hill.  It was a beautiful day for baseball and the team did GREAT!  Derick hit in each of the three innings played, and made a couple of good plays in the feild to get the other team out.  Nonna, Papa, Jodi, Cooper, and Sydney came to watch and support our lil guy. 

 Thank you, coach Steve, Jeremy, and Dj!  It was a great season!

School's Out for Little D!

May 30th was Darla's last day of 3's Preschool.  I really can't believe how fast this year went.  She had a good time going to school doing lots of art projects, learning her A,B,C's and practicing being in a classroom with teachers and other kids.  She made some good friends and looks forward to next year's 4s class when she will go three days a week instead of two.

Saltwater State Park 5-13

We visited a local beach park and took advantage of a day off from school to explore the tide pools.

Derick's Spring Sing

Derick's first grade classes put on a spring concert, themed as: A day at the beach.  Everyone dressed in their beach clothes and sang some cute Beach Boys songs.  I love watching my boy!

Darla's Dance Recital 2013

My beautiful ballerina girl danced in her second recital on May 18th and this time, I got to be a part of the day with her. We did her hair and make up together. I enjoyed doing girly stuff with my sweetie.  At the recital, I was a nervous wreck for her, but she did awesome!  She was soooo pretty and kept her arms up almost the whole time.  Proud mama!!!

Then, the family went out for 'linner' to celebrate.  It was a nice treat to visit with Grandma Bea, whom we don't see often enough!

Mother's Day Weekend 2013

Middle of May brings pretty flowers, a couple of family birthdays, and of course a celebration of Motherhood.  J2D2 had a wonderful weekend celebrating with family.

Being a mom has been one of the most important things that I've ever done in my life, so far.  I love my kids and my husband more than I thought possible.  There are days when it's one of the toughest jobs I've ever had, too.  I thought I wore my heart on my sleeve before....now my heart belongs to others, completely.  I only pray that I am doing as well by them, as my mother did for me.  Happy Mother's Day, indeed.

SPRING is here!!

Oh how I LOVE this season....I mean I do love them all for different reasons...but spring seems to bring something extra special when it comes.  The light, the color, the renewal.  It's hope, rebirth, and new chances.  I love watching my yard come to life.  I get a kick out of putting seeds in the ground and watching a plant come out of the dirt.  This year is no different!  Here are some highlights from our spring, so far.

1st Grade Field Trip

April brought Derick (and I's) first field trip with his elementary school.  We got to visit the Woodland Park Zoo with the rest of the first grade classes and lots of parents.  In fact, there were so many volunteers that I didn't have a very big group of kids; just Derick and one of his friends from class, Marco.  So, it was a very fun morning, and easy for me to just relax and enjoy the boys as best I could.  It was alot of fun for me to see Derick with his school buddies.
