Derick's 4 month old doctor apt was today. We had all good news. Doc said he's doing very well and she was impressed with his physical strength and alertness. She said he's seems pretty active and we have to agree. He's a mover and a shaker alright. Derick weighed in at 15 lbs, 1 oz and is now 26 inches tall. That puts him in the 69% for his weight and 90% for his height. Doc said that he is right on track for his sleeping and eating habits. After all that good news, we had the dreaded shots. Mommy and Daddy forgot the Tylenol this time, and Derick let us know about it. Lots of tears that wouldn't stop until we left the examining room. That is so tough on us. But we know it's for the best, so we hung in there and our sweet boy crashed out on the ride home for a much needed rest.
He sure is becoming more comfortable rolling. I think it happens so easily now, sometimes he doesn't really mean it. He is rolling from his back to his front-on both sides. But he still gets stuck on his tummy and gets fussy when he's been there too long. We are trying to encourage him to learn to roll back onto his back. But, he has yet to master this move. When he does....look out world!
We attend two family weddings this weekend and a birthday party for a friend. A good time was had at all the events. And, Derick was quiet for both weddings. (With a little of Mommy's help)
Other family news-my mom is recovering beautifully from her double knee surgery. She's almost to the 4 week mark and walks well with a cane. She's had such a positive attitude, believing in herself and her healing the whole way. My Dad is preparing for another surgery on his neck. He's got a bulging disk that is pressing on his spinal cord and it's creating increased leg spasms and some pain this time around. We are praying for a fast recovery for him as well. September 21st is his scheduled surgery date.
My sister is going to celebrate her 30th birthday Friday, September 1st. I can't wait to put one down with her. Jeremy and I are going to get a sitter and actually go out! I am really looking forward to a date with my man. Still a little nervous about leaving D, but I know it's good for us to do.
Well, that's all for now. Hugs to everyone!
