This blogger.com website is turning out to be everything that I hoped it would be. Jill and I can post blogs without my usual editing and uploading process and then you can comment if you like. My attitude with the website so far has been, "why reinvent the wheel"? I have found many great tools that are free (as long as you give the developers credit) and generally easy to use. I can't tell you how cool that is. When I said that I was planning on building this website I wasn't completely sure if I could pull it off but it now stands as one of my most prized accomplishments. Who needs 'myspace'? I say, real men build their own websites. Someday, I would like to take it to the next level; build the site on database technology. It would make keeping the site current much easier. I wasn't very interested in databases in my schooling so I didn't exactly get the most out of what I learned. I could probably take a class or two at Renton Tech and get the knowledge I need to do it. That sounds like fun.
I am all settled in to my room at Bolger Center in Potomac, MD for my USPS training. Its feels kinda nice to know that the USPS is once again investing in me the way I have invested in myself. I have had lots of Postal training over the years but this feels different for some reason. I guess its because I'm at the National Leadership Training Center. I am hoping that I will have some new tools to bring back with me.
I saw a little boy (probably about 3-4 mo. old) on the flight to Minneapolis and of course he reminded my of Derick, he even looked a little like him. He hardly fussed at all and of course everyone was just goo goo ga ga over him. I wonder how Derick would do on a plane? He gets skiddish when I give him airplane rides now, and the turbulence coming in to the airport was making me nervous. I was missing him already.
