Friday night, I talked Jeremy into trying Indian food at a local place called Naan-N-Curry. OMG, what amazing fare. We both loved it and will be going back again, soon! Saturday morning, we started slow with a yummy home made farmers breakfast and coffee.
Then, I took Jeremy on a hike in the Granite Falls area, called the Old Robe River trail. It's a nice mellow hike along a river. Jeremy loved the old rail road tracks that make up parts of the trail and the caves at the end. Some parts of the trail have been washed away due to slides, but we made it to the first cave before turning back. It was a beautiful day to hike, and my soul was overflowing with peace, joy, and love.
Looks lovely, doesn't it?
Someone else's rock art, but I just love finding these.
We headed on to our hotel in Burlington (free-Thanks Marriott!). Dinner was in LaConner at the cutest brew pub. We explored town a little; Nasty Jack's antiques and a few other art galleries.
Sunday morning we got up, had breakfast at the hotel and then headed north again. I wanted to show Jeremy one of my favorite drives and state parks in Western Washington; Chuckanut Drive and Larabee State Park. We enjoyed the drive (I let Jeremy take the wheel) and visit to the park.
I can not get enough of the rock formations at Larabee.
Tide pool exploring.....another family found starfish, so we had to check them out too.
The beautiful, curvy Chuckanut Drive.
Babe, thanks for spending the weekend with me. It was a much needed time to reconnect and be together without interruptions. I love you so much! Happy Anniversary!
