Darla's Third Birthday

I really can't believe our lil baby is turning into a three year old!  But she has, and we celebrated this weekend in style!
First came her joint birthday party with cousin Sydney,  who turned two on November 11th.  The Kunz family hosted all of us very nicely in their Redmond home.  Thanks guys!  And thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us.  Darla and Sydney were showered with love and gifts; we are grateful.
Jeremy and I made a princess cake for the girls and were challenged once again in new ways. Both by creating the cake and by transporting it to the party. We did as much as we could the night before, and then arrived early to put it all together.  I think it turned out pretty amazing.

We were so glad to have Nonna and Papa join us!  Dad's white blood count is on the rise again, and he was strong enough to come and enjoy himself and all the adorable little people.

Syd and Darla, enjoying the play room.
 Birthday princesses, indeed!
Darla's really day started out with the seat of honor for breakfast and some of Daddy's home-made chocolate chip waffles.  YUM!
Pretty Blue Eyes!

Then, mommy washed her new sheets (from Nonna and Papa) and finally got to finish Darla's big girl bed, her gift from us this year.  It's a low loft bed, which will allow for more floor space in her small room.  She's already enjoying the cubby feel, and with a new light and a few more pillows underneath, it'll be perfect!
Getting tickles from mommy....I just love her smiles and giggles.  There's nothing more pure than the sound of joy coming from the little people.

Red Robbin Birthday Dinner
It's quickly becoming one of our family traditions to head down the hill and have a birthday dinner out at Red Robbin.  Darla LOVES their mac-n-cheese and that's just what she enjoyed this year.

Happy Birthday, Darla.  I'm so proud to be your mommy and feel blessed to have you in my life.  I love how independent and sassy you are. I love that you LOVE barbies, just like your momma.  And yet, you can hold your own with the boy toys, too!  I love you!
