On this day, we all stop to think about what we are most thankful for. And, I'm no different. I woke up this morning and lay in the quiet house, thinking about all the gifts in my life. So, here's my list....and of course it's never truly complete. But, these are the things that are in the front of my mind today.
1) I am so thankful for my loving parents. Without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today. I was raised in a home full of love, rich with memories and moments together. I learned so much from my parents, but today I am thankful for the role models they have been. From them, I learned how to be a strong woman, a good wife, and a loving parent. If it wasn't for them.....I wouldn't have #2.
2) I am so thankful for my dear husband Jeremy. Because of him, my life has balance; is rich with love. The mutual respect and loyalty that we share is so special. Our relationship is not always perfect, but after the bumpy moments, we always seem to find our way back to center. If it wasn't for Jeremy....I wouldn't have #3.
3) I am so thankful for my beautiful children. Derick and Darla are the lights in my daily life. They fill my hours with joy, laughter, challenge, and play. My favorite part is when they run up unexpectedly and throw their little arms around my neck and say, "I love you, mommy!" I enjoy watching them grow and learn. I am thankful that they both remind me to live in the moment. If it wasn't for them.....I wouldn't have as many #4s.
4) I am so thankful for my fun friends. I have some pretty amazing friends that make me laugh when I wanna cry, hold my hand and stand by my side when times are dark, help me see things in a new light, and love me truly-even my not so nice sides.
5) I am so thankful for my full extended family. I am blessed with a loving sister and sweet sister-in-laws who are committed to family and traditions. I enjoy my brother-in-laws; their humor and playfulness. I love all my nieces and nephews dearly....watching the cousins together brings me such joy; knowing they will love each other for many years to come. Our Papas, Nonnas, and Grandmas/Grandpas bring a quiet knowing and depth of history to our lives that I treasure.
6) I am so thankful for a roof over our heads, food on our table, music to dance to, coffee in my cup, and a healthy body.
Thank you, Spirit!! My life is blessed. My cup runs over with riches, deeper and meaningful. On this day of thanksgiving, I am sincerely grateful.
