One of my most favorite animals, ever, has returned to our yard. The male Rufus hummingbird captured my heart 10 years ago, when we first moved into our home. We just love how they sound as they zoom in and out of the yard. Only the males make the extra noise, and they've been missing in action for the last few springs. I am SO very happy to report that they are BACK this year. Jeremy spotted him first, but I was able to capture this male yesterday, on film. I saw a baby male this afternoon, but didn't have my camera handy. Yay for Mr. Zippy!
