Bike Weekend!

Our good friends Jenn and Arthur invited us to travel by bike with them to Ocean Shores this summer, so we made plans.  And then Jeremy's bike got hit and into the shop it went.  Since Harley has had it for over a month while they argued with State Farm about the repairs, we asked them to help us rent a bike, so we wouldn't have to cancel our plans for a get away.  They agreed!!!  Yay for Downtown Harley Davidson.  So, on Friday afternoon, I dropped the kids at my sister's (BIG thanks, Jodi and Brian!) and headed to Harley to help Jeremy pick up the bike.  After a little confusion, we got it signed for and headed out for a date night to get used to the new ride.  It's much heavier and bigger than Jeremy's bike...and so much more comfortable for me!  It was a 'bagger' outfitted with a 'couch' for a backseat.  All I knew was that it was great!  We went out for dinner at our favorite local Mexican place and then drove around in factoria and up to the top of Newcastle Golf Club.  It's like being on top of the world up there and the sunset was amazing.

Saturday morning we lazed around the house, enjoying the J&J factor without kids.  We stopped for coffee at Starbucks, just like old times.  Then, we met up with Jenn and Arthur and headed west.  |The ride was cold, with a few sprinkles, but we made it!  After a quick trip into town while waiting for our rooms to be ready, we checked in at the Quinault Casino.  Dinner was wonderful...a great seafood affair!  After dinner we walked around, checked out the band, and played a few slots.

 Cheers!!

Sunday morning we woke to beautiful sunshine!
We walked on the beach after a lovely lazy start to our day.

After our beach walk, it was time to head home.

Me, on the back of the bike.
One of my favorite parts of riding on a motorcycle is how much you get to FEEL.  The air, the smells, the sight of the whole sky, right above you and the road moving right below your feet. It's really different than being in a car.
Great weekend!
