Jeremy and Derick joined the Boy Scouts of America last fall, and in so doing, participated in their first Pinewood Derby as father and son scouts this January. Jeremy volunteered to run the derby for the pack. The event went pretty well, the boys had a blast. Jeremy struggled with the track, lane one started malfunctioning after the first 4 heat races. Trying to fix it, set them back on time, but in the end they got all the races completed. Derick's car took third place, for overall fastest time. Each year, Derick will do more and more of the car building by himself, so I expect the car may get slower as time goes on. HA! But, really it's the experience and time with Dad that is most important. And that is priceless!
One happy boy, among his scout buddies.
Tiger Cubs, Pack 495. Yup, that's mine in front striking a pose!
The pits, that Jeremy built. I love my handy man.
Well done, guys!
