Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day, 2012 brought the usual family gatherings.  It was a great weekend, filled with wonderful family meals.  We celebrated with the Peery clan first, on Saturday.  The crew came over for a BBQ in the rain.  Jeremy elected to let me man the grill, and I did pretty well.  Salmon burgers, hamburgers, and some black bean burgers were on the menu.  Plus, I threw in a couple of chicken breasts, just for my dieting family members.  The rest of the family rounded out our menu with salads drinks, and dessert.  It was good.

We also celebrated my birthday, with the Peery side.
 Time for a photo shoot!

My kiddos, with my man.  Love this lil family!

On Sunday, we headed north to spend the late morning and early afternoon with the Sommerdorfs.  Again, another very tasty meal was had by all.  Brunch included egg and sausage bakes, cinnamon rolls, fruit, and ham!  And let's not forget the coffee and mimosas!  After stuffing ourselves, we opened gifts.  I wanted to do something special for my Dad this year, and I got the idea to paint him a scene of hummingbirds, since that's something we both enjoy so much.  I did all the drawings and painting myself, and got some expert advice and coaching from a local business owner, who owns Arts-n-Carafes in downtown Renton.  It turned out better than I imagined.

My finished painting; the male Anna's hummer symbolizes my Dad, and the three in shadow symbolize my sister, mom, and me.
Dad, finding out that I was the artist.  :)  I love his priceless expression.
The Dads.  Brian, Barry, and Jeremy.
After presents, the kids and grandparents headed outside while us middle ages peeps chilled inside.
The whole weekend was a wonderful celebration of all the love in our lives.  Blessings!
