Who is that GROWN up looking lil man??
Note from Daddy.....I sure do have an awesome hubby.
Bus stop friends Angela, Heiu-Ann and Julia.
Derick has Mrs Ballard for first grade and his room is right across the hall from his Kindy teacher, Ms. Berlin. It was nice to see a familiar face at meet the teacher night. We are on day three and I can see that Derick is getting tired with the longer days. Lots more melt downs and tears in the evening this week. Also, he's back to telling us 'stories' about how his day goes. I believe this is a coping tool for him, when he's in new situations. It happened last year too, and stopped after he got more comfortable with his routine. The best one I've heard so far is the one after day 2 of school. He came home telling me all about how his class had a science day outside with a 3rd grade class (who happens to be our neighbor friend's class). He went on and on about how they were building robots outside and how much fun it was. When I finally questioned him...."REALLY?? That's amazing for the second day of school, Derick!!" He finally fessed up...no mom, it's not really true at all. Sigh. What a creative mind though! We had the talk again about crying wolf and trust. But, I know in my heart he's just adjusting to all the new. New school, new teacher, new kids in class. And, I know he's going to do great! I am such a proud mama!
